Try something new this summer. Granulated maple sugar in a meat rub will impress everyone.
MAPLE RUB ON PORK RIBS
DRY RUB MIX:
½ Tbsp salt
1 cup granulated maple sugar
1 tsp celery seed
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp paprika
1 Tbsp chopped fresh basil
½ tsp pepper
Blend all dry rub ingredients. Place 5 lbs of country ribs in a single layer in a large pan and rub ribs with 2/3 of the mixture. Loosely cover the pan with aluminum foil and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight. Drain the ribs and save the liquid for later. Transfer Ribs to a large roasting pan sprayed with cooking spray. Rub remainder of dry rub onto ribs. Loosely cover the pan with foil and place in a 450’ oven for 15 minutes. Finish the ribs on a hot grill for 8 minutes or until done, turning after 4 minutes. Reserve the drippings from the ribs. Place all reserved juices in a sauce pan with 1 cup of your favorite barbeque sauce. Simmer the sauce for 10 minutes. Baste the grilling ribs with the sauce. Enjoy.
